Our Doulas

20.png

Our Doulas undergo a quality and thorough recruitment process that ensures that they have the appropriate training and experience. They all hold a current doula qualification, have had professional experience, hold First aid and CPR Certificates, have a current Working With Children Check and are insured.

A Doulas training covers many aspects of pregnancy, the mechanics of labour and birth, feelings, possible fears and challenges for parents, post natal support, breast/bottle feeding, baby growth and development, understanding sleep and settling for babies, new parents support and self care, baby massage and bathing.

Our doula approach means that we are working from a non-judgemental place, working with complex needs clients, professional boundaries, indigenous birthing culture and understanding the LGBTQI+ community.

Doulas working for the Groundwork Program embody a unique set of qualities and skills tailored to support the complex needs of children, young people, and pregnant women, particularly those facing significant challenges. They are deeply committed to upholding the rights of children and young people, ensuring that every child receives care and protection that respects their basic human rights. This includes advocating for their safety, well-being, and access to necessary resources and services.
