Are you passionate about supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the early stages of parenthood?

 

The Groundwork Program is seeking dedicated doulas to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those facing significant challenges.

Our Recruitment Process:

​

We pride ourselves on a rigorous and comprehensive recruitment process, ensuring our doulas possess the necessary training and experience to provide exceptional care.

 

Training and Certification required:​

​

  • Hold a current doula qualification.

  • Have professional experience.

  • Possess First Aid, CPR

  • Have a current Working With Children Check.

  • Are fully insured.

 

Skills and Experience:​

​

  • The mechanics of labour and birth.

  • Addressing feelings, fears, and challenges for parents.

  • Breast/bottle feeding guidance.

  • Baby growth and development.

  • Understanding sleep and settling techniques for babies.

  • New parent support and self-care.

  • Baby massage and bathing.

  • Work with clients who have complex needs.

  • Maintain professional boundaries.

  • Honour indigenous birthing cultures.

  • Understand and support the LGBTQI+ community.

Role intentions:​

  • Providing non-judgmental support to pregnant women.

  • Upholding the rights of children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.

  • Advocating for the basic human rights of all clients.

  • Fostering a supportive environment for positive engagement.

  • Supporting families with strategies for achievable steps toward well-being.

  • Planning safety and working with at-risk families, collaborating with other professionals.

  • Identifying and responding to children and young people at risk, ensuring timely interventions.
